General Information
Turkish Preparatory Program is a comprehensive education program that aims to improve the Turkish language skills of foreign students. This program helps foreign students who want to study in TRNC to overcome the language barrier and increase their academic success.
Program Objectives
Developing Language Skills: To ensure that students use Turkish effectively by improving their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
Providing Cultural Adaptation: To help students adapt to Turkey by introducing them to Turkey’s cultural values and social life.
Academic Preparation: To provide the academic language skills necessary to follow university-level courses.
Education Duration and Class Hours
Students who fail the Turkish Proficiency Exam (CSUTPE) or do not have the required proficiency are required to attend the School of Foreign Languages Turkish Preparatory Education Program for at least one academic semester. The maximum education period for the Turkish Preparatory Education Program consists of 4 academic semesters or 4 unsuccessful repetitions for the same course. The weekly lesson hours in the Turkish Preparatory Education Program are at least 20 hours for all levels.
Qualification
International students who are accepted and/or placed in associate, undergraduate and postgraduate programs in which the language of education is Turkish at the Cyprus Science University can register for the first year if they are successful in the Turkish Proficiency Exam (CSUTPE) to be held on the dates to be announced by the School of Foreign Languages Turkish Preparatory Education Program or if they have the proficiency certificate and scores, as a result of the evaluation of the School of Foreign Languages.
