General Information
The four-year doctoral program in Clinical Psychology aims to integrate the clinical, academic and research aspects of education. The main purpose of the program is to train clinical psychologists who have knowledge of basic theoretical approaches and current perspectives in the field of psychology and clinical psychology, have the clinical skills and attitudes required to work independently in the field, observe ethical values in clinical practice, are sensitive to cross-cultural differences and needs, have the ability to plan and conduct research aimed at the development of clinical psychology and are open to self-development. The program includes courses aimed at providing basic clinical skills in the field of mental health and compulsory courses on scientific research methods. In addition to compulsory courses, there are elective courses that students can take according to their own preferences.
Job Opportunities
Students who graduate from the Clinical Psychology doctoral program mostly work as faculty members at state and foundation universities. Another majority continue to provide professional support in the public or private mental health field. The duration of education is 8 semesters. The doctoral process consists mainly of course and thesis periods. The course period consists of at least 9 courses and a seminar, a proficiency exam, and the thesis period consists of thesis proposal, thesis preparation and Thesis Defense Exam stages. During the doctoral program, at least 240 ECTS credits must be taken, provided that no less than 60 ECTS credits are received in one academic term.
