General Information
The Department of Computer Engineering aims to train technically competent and socially conscious engineers who will design and implement information and computing systems necessitated by the ever-increasing and diversified automation needs of contemporary societies. The department offers a balanced undergraduate program with a strong background in computer software, computer hardware and mathematics, including computer networks and departmental technical / non-departmental non-technical elective courses. In our education process, we use the latest materials and technologies for the needs of the real business world.
The development of the Internet and online technologies are the results of studies in the field of computer engineering. Computer engineers are the architects of the technologies used today and those that will emerge and be used in the future. As a computer engineer, you can participate in the development of emerging technologies and have a career opportunity in every sector that needs technology experts, such as e-commerce, database management, network management, and software development, from banks, government agencies, trading firms and manufacturing companies to marketing organizations. You can also receive higher education in engineering, complete your doctorate and choose to continue your career as an academician.
Job Opportunities
Computer Engineering offers a wide range of job opportunities, allowing graduates to pursue careers in many sectors. Computer engineers can work in areas such as software development, data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity, network and system management, cloud computing, game development, and big data analytics. They can also play an important role in sectors such as finance, healthcare, education, defense, automotive, and telecommunications. While software engineers develop application and system software, data scientists analyze large data sets to help businesses make strategic decisions. Cybersecurity experts protect information systems and prevent data breaches, while network and system administrators manage the information technology infrastructure of organizations. Cloud computing experts increase efficiency and reduce costs by developing cloud-based solutions, while game developers produce software for entertainment and education. Computer engineers can also contribute to the development of new technologies and innovative solutions by taking part in research and development activities. They have a wide range of job opportunities in both the public and private sectors, from small start-ups to large-scale companies.
